Close: Cheryl Cole was spotted arriving at her home with Derek Hough on Thursday and Friday nights last week
Cheryl Cole has spent three nights with dancer Derek Hough at the home she once shared with ex Ashley, it was claimed today.
The singer was spotted arriving at her home with the handsome dancer, 25, on Thursday and Friday nights last week, just days after she filed for divorce from Cole.
The pair have become increasingly close after they performed a raunchy dance routine for the video clip for her single Parachute.
Friends: The pair seemed deep in conversation as they sat in the back of a taxi
Derek flew to be by Cheryl's side just hours after he and Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger were crowned U.S. Dancing with the Stars champions last week.
A source told The News of the World: 'Cheryl was desperate to see Derek. She's been speaking to him almost every day and he's helped her get through this awful time.'
'She really wanted Derek to come to London to be with her earlier but he couldn't leave the States because he was partnering Nicole Scherzinger on Dancing with the Stars.
'But that ended just as Cheryl decided to go through with the divorce. She begged Derek to come and he instantly agreed.'
Up close and personal: Derek joined Cheryl on stage at the O2 Arena this week as she performed her single Parachute
Chemistry: Derek joined Cheryl on stage after watching her performance from the wings
Their chemistry was evident as Derek joined her on stage at the O2 arena after watching from the wings on Thursday night.
The pair performed their dance routine for Parachute and Cheryl then invited her friend back to her luxurious Surrey mansion, where he reportedly spent three nights.
'It was a very big decision on her part. But she loves spending time with Derek,' a source told the News of the World.
Friendship: Derek, pictured with Cheryl in LA in February, has been a source of comfort to the star during her split from Ashley Cole
A friend said Ashley, who is currently in Austria preparing for the World Cup, would view Cheryl's behaviour as a 'devastating blow.'
But they said Derek was likely to become more significant in the Girls Aloud star's life.
'Derek's the complete opposite to Ashley. He's very caring and supportive to Cheryl.
She's made it very clear she can't rush into another serious relationship, but he's very keen on her and is prepared to follow her around the world.'
She's opened up to him about Ashley so he knows how vulnerable she is at the moment, which makes him want to be there for her even more.
Cheryl has also been linked with Black Eyed Peas star Will-i-am, who is said to have fallen for the 26-year-old.

Mind the oven! Kelly Brook promotes Reebok's EasyTone trainers by posing in a black and white pair of knickers
She has never been shy about showing off her figure.
So when the opportunity arose for Kelly Brook to promote Reebok's new EasyTone trainers, she had no problem stripping to her underwear in a rather gratuitous way of showing off the toning footwear.
Whether it's cooking in a pair of black and white striped knickers and cropped T-shirt, or doing the hoovering in a yellow vest top and lime green pair, Kelly shows whatever you are doing, you can wear EasyTones while doing it.
She said: 'EasyTones are brilliant, it's like having a little gym built into your trainers. I wear them all the time especially if I don't have time to get to the gym and then at least I know I'm doing something for my body.
'They make your legs feel toned and bum feel pert, they are like magic shoes! I've been wearing them to tone up for the summer and have really seen a difference, which is why I didn't mind getting my hotpants on for the video.
'I had so much fun re-creating the advert - hula-hooping, trampolining, dancing around in my EasyTones. My dog Rocky even got a guest appearance in the last shot!'
Clean freak: Kelly makes sure her 'flat' is spotless as she does the hoovering in a skimpy underwear set
Glowing: The model looks stunning in the Reebok advert - showing off her famous figure and sparkling smile
Kelly, 30, isn't the only celebrity fan of the revolutionary new trainers - Helena Christensen, Kim Kardashian, Whitney Port, Miranda Kerr and Bar Refaeli have all spoken about how impressed they are by the fitness shoes.
Kelly, who is currently in Los Angeles with boyfriend Danny Cipriani, has always spoken freely about her weight, and says it's sometimes a struggle to maintain her slimline shape.
She said recently: 'I enjoy healthy food and it makes me feel good. But it’s definitely not a crazy diet, I’m not going to deny myself desserts.
Fashion icon: Kelly has been wearing flirty outfits during her time in Los Angeles with Danny Cipriani
'I always try to have three meals a day and don’t snack on bad stuff. I like to make soups, which are healthy, filling and don’t make you feel bloated. I also love making healthy fish or vegetarian dishes.'
Kelly is also the face and body of lingerie brand Ultimo, and has been showing off her amazing figure in a series of flirty outfits while in LA.
After wearing a tight heart-print dress earlier this week, Kelly stepped out in a flowery playsuit to make the most of the LA sun. [endtext]

Miley, how you've grown! Miss Cyrus performed at the Rock in Rio music festival in Portugal today
Miley Cyrus is desperate to shed her wholesome Disney image - and she's certainly going about it the right way.
The Hannah Montana actress took to the stage at the Rock in Rio music festival in Lisbon, Portugal, today in a very daring outfit.
The 17-year-old put on a series of raunchy moves as she strutted around in a corset-style costume.
She topped off the revealling outfit with a studded leather jacket and towering peep-toe shoe boots.
All grown up: The teen strutted around in a raunchy costume
The star is promoting her new single, Can't Be Tamed, and is clearly eager to keep up with the likes of sexy pop stars including Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Britney Spears.
It comes just weeks after a video of her 'dirty dancing' with 45-year-old film producer Adam Shankman surfaced on the internet.
The clip, which was filmed when Miley was just 16, was originally posted by celebrity website TMZ.com before hitting YouTube. But it has now been removed.
Keeping up with the pop stars: The singer appears to be mimicking the likes of Lady Gaga and Rihanna
However, it didn't worry her father, singer Billy Ray Cyrus, who spent last week in Mexico with Miley and the rest of his family.
He said Miley was merely 'having fun' and 'doing what people her age do'.
Meanwhile, Miley has decided that she plans to put her education on hold while she focuses on acting and singing.
She said: 'I am a firm believer that you can go back at any age you want, because my grandma went back to college at 62 years old.'

It's one of the most highly-anticipated showbiz events of the year, when eyes aren't just on the prizes won but also the outfits worn.
But if there was a prize for the worst outfit choice at the National Movie Awards it would probably have gone to Katie Holmes, who chose an unflattering striped maxi dress for the event at London's Royal Festival Hall.
Accompanied by husband Tom Cruise, who looked dapper in a black suit, Katie, 31, walked confidently down the red carpet - apparently unaware of her fashion faux pas.
Unflattering: Katie Holmes' striped silk maxi dress did little to flatter her lithe figure. The actress was accompanied by husband Tom Cruise as she arrived at the National Movie Awards
Happy couple: Holmes smiles as she poses with husband Tom Cruise, who looked dapper in a dark suit
The pair were at the National Movie Awards so Cruise could accept his screen icon award from actress Gwyneth Paltrow.
He said: 'It's a real honour for me to be here tonight. This great city of London.
This great country England. I've made several films here. I have been fortunate.
'I guess as a film maker the most important thing to me is you. If I have entertained you at all, I thank you. Thank you for allowing me to do so.'
Holmes wasn't the only star to have made a bold outfit choice at the event.
Just hours after she debuted a hair-raising new style at a Louis Vuitton store launch, Gwyneth Paltrow arrived at the awards in an unusual hot pink dress, reminiscent in its style of the Sixties era.
And the actress appeared fond of her new hair, backcombing her locks into another unusual up-do.
Fan man: Cruise, who is renowned for the amount of time he spends talking to fans and signing autographs before events, made the rounds outside the Royal Festival Hall
Legend: Cruise accepts his screen icon award from actress Gwyneth Paltrow
Other stylish outfit choices came from Michelle Ryan, who recovered from last night's red carpet mistake in a sleek gold mini dress and platform heels.
Many of the stars at the event had jetted across from the U.S., with Chris Rock joking: 'This is almost as big as the Oscars!'
The winners at the event are chosen by viewers' votes, and the first prize of the night went to
Sherlock Holmes, which was crowned favourite action/thriller.
Pretty in pink: Gwyneth Paltrow chose an unusual hot pink dress and matching heels for the awards - opting again for backcombed hair
Director Guy Ritchie collected the award and joked: 'Thank you very much. We said no to the Oscar but we'll say yes to this because the public voted for it.
'We set out to make a comedy but we'll take it where we can get it.'
The Twilight Saga: New Moon took the award for best fantasy film, beating off stiff competition from Alice In Wonderland, Avatar and Clash Of The Titans.
The film, nominated for five prizes at the ITV1 awards, was a popular choice and there were screams from the delighted audience when its name was called out.
Award winners: Bonnie Wright, Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson pose with their National Movie Award for best family film
Eye candy: James Corden arrived with newly-single friend Dominic Cooper while Orlando Bloom walked the red carpet alone
Star Robert Pattinson received the award for best performance in the film.
While he was unable to attend due to filming commitments, he told fans through a video clip: 'It means a lot to me because you the fans decided the winner.
'Thanks for voting for me.'
Peter Facinelli, who plays Dr Carlisle Cullen, said: 'The character I play is from London so this is a warm welcome home.'
Short and sweet: Kylie Minogue looked stunning in a blue minidress which she paired with gold accessories
Sleek: Former Blue Peter presenter Konnie Huq shows some flesh in a halterneck dress
The Time Traveler's Wife was named breakthrough movie, beating off competition from Coco Before Chanel, Harry Brown, Nativity!, Paranormal Activity and The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.
Ron Livingston, who plays Gomez in the film but is best known as Jack Berger from Sex And The City, collected the award.
He said the film was for all the women who were pleased to find out there was 'a good explanation' when their husbands disappeared for weeks at a time and came home without their clothes.
Stage presence: Jonathan Ross presented a clip from Toy Story 3 while Orlando Bloom presented an award
Jonathan Ross, who presented a clip from the forthcoming Toy Story 3, joked that he was excited and honoured to appear.
'Excited because it's ITV and I was looking around,' said Ross who announced in January he was quitting the BBC after 13 years.
Covered up: Actress Ophelia Lovibond wears a maxi dress with embellished shoulders
Britain's Got Talent stars Flawless, who appear in new movie Streetdance 3D, looked sharp in matching tuxedos
Bloom presented the family film trophy to Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Bonnie Wright from Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince.
Radcliffe, who apologised for the absence of his co-star Rupert Grint due to sickness, said: 'It's fantastic for us, six films in with two more to go, to still be getting this kind of recognition.'
Watson added: 'This is such an incredible honour. It's so wonderful that you still love these films. We still love making them.'
Kylie Minogue presented a special recognition award to the Harry Potter series of films.
Producer David Heyman, who obtained the rights to JK Rowling's books, said making the movies was a team effort, with more than 2,000 people involved in each one.
'On behalf of the Harry Potter family I'd like to thank Jo Rowling for giving us the books. Without her we wouldn't be here,' he added.
And the winners are:
Action/Thriller - Sherlock Holmes Family - Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Fantasy - The Twilight Saga: New Moon Breakthrough Movie - The Times Traveler's Wife Performance of the Year - Robert Pattinson Special Recognition - Harry Potter Screen Icon - Tom Cruise

Jetsetter: Cheryl Cole performs at Radio 1's Big Weekend in Bangor, Wales, after flying back from Cannes, France
It's been a busy week for Cheryl Cole.
After enjoying film premieres at the Cannes Film Festival in France, Cole jetted back to the UK to play at Radio 1's Big Weekend in Bangor, Wales.
And going from showbiz royalty in Cannes to actual royalty in England, Cole had the opportunity to perform in front of Prince William and his girlfriend Kate Middleton, who made the most of the sunshine at the event.
Military: The singer wore a green parka jacket, metallic hotpants and boots for her set
Dressed in her usual military-style outfit of a parka jacket and hotpants, Cole belted out her most famous hits during her 25-minute set, as well as turning her hand to a cover of Owl City's Fireflies.
But it was Fight For This Love and Parachutes and 3 Words which were best received by the 20,000-strong crowd.
Before singing 3 Words, Cole - who duets with close friend and Black Eyed Peas star Will.i.am on the track - told her fans: 'Everybody that's in love in here today I want you to turn to your partner and sing this one.'
Cole wasn't the only act to cause a stir at the annual event.
Alicia Keys donned an unusual plunging harem-style outfit for her set on stage, during which she performed some of her most famous including Empire State of Mind
Shiny happy people: Alicia Keys wore an unusual black jumpsuit for the event
Keys's track, which pays tribute to the singer's hometown of New York, was recently reworked by the Radio 1 team to instead honour the landmark icons of North Wales ahead of the Big Weekend.
A spokesperson for the Chris Moyles show said earlier this week: 'We do a lot of parodies on the programme.
'And it's only fitting for us to do a special one ahead of our visit to north Wales this week.
'Since it's been played a lot of people have assumed that it's Alicia Keys singing, but it's actually a session singer.'
Redheaded Florence Welch of Florence & The Machine proved a hit with fans as she performed a 55-minute set accompanied by a 30-strong choir.
Headliner: Florence Welch of Florence & The Machine received rapturous applause from the 20,000-strong crowd
Talent mixture: Justin Bieber (left) received a mixute of cheers and boos from the crowd, while Roy Stride of Scouting For Girls proved a hit
Welch, who was headlining her first festival, treated fans to renditions of her hits including Dog Days Are Over and Drumming Song.
The singer recently gave an interview saying how much she enjoyed performing at festivals, explaining: 'I love festivals - the atmosphere of it and the crowd is always amazing.
'Being able to see other bands play and just hang out with everyone backstage, there’s a real sense of camaraderie.'
But while the crowd couldn't get enough of Florence & The Machine, their reactions were mixed to some of the other acts.
It seems Bieber Fever has definitely not made it's way to the UK yet, as young star Justin Bieber received a mixture of cheers and boos from the indecisive fans.
Unrecognisable: Jared Leto performs with his band 30 Seconds to Mars
Celebration: Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles looks thrilled as he takes to the stage
Meanwhile, former teen heartthrob Jared Leto shocked fans with his appearance - his bright pink mohican a far cry from the fresh-faced look he debuted on My So-Called Life.
However, Radio 1 live music and events editor Jason Carter previously said he was determined to ensure an eclectic mix of talent for the music event.
He said: 'We've pulled out all the stops for our tenth BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend with an outstanding lineup of the best UK and international talent, along with new and emerging artists.'
But despite the hoards of celebrities at the Welsh event, many fans were most excited about catching a glimpse of Prince William and Kate.
Short and sweet: Kelly Rowland and Ellie Goulding dress for the warm weather
Hats off: Edith Bowman wears a panama hat while Frankie Sandford, with boyfriend Dougie Poynter, goes for a trilby
Rapper Tinie Tempah said he was nervous before meeting the royal heir to the throne, but was soon made to feel at ease.
He said: 'I was a little bit overwhelmed but it was good. We've never met before. He just said he was, "feeling everything and a big fan of the music."
'He was a nice guy. We were just talking and getting familiar. It was a real big deal for me.'
Other celebrity guests at the festival included Kelly Rowland, Radio 1 DJ Edith Bowman, Ellie Goulding, who also performed, and recently reunited couple Frankie Sandford of The Saturdays and McFly's Dougie Poynter.
The Big Weekend continues today with acts including Rihanna, Pixie Lott, Paolo Nutini and Ke$ha.

Teenage angst: Miley Cyrus snarls at the camera as she performs her new single Can't Be Tamed on Dancing With The Stars
Miley Cyrus shot to fame as the squeaky clean Hannah Montana in the Disney TV show when she was just 14.
But the 17-year-old showed she is determined to put her 'good girl' tween image behind her last night as she pulled out all the stops for a raunchy performance on Dancing With The Stars.
Wearing an all-black leather outfit and knee-length boots, Miley began singing her new single Can't Be Tamed from inside a cage, surrounded by several scantily clad dancers.
Provocative: The 17-year-old wore a black leotard and knee-high boots for the show
With her hair teased into a backcombed quiff at the front, Miley snarled at the cameras as she performed the song with both confidence and aggression.
After Miley finished her song, Dancing With The Stars host Tom Bergeron remarked: 'Billy Ray Cyrus, your little girl's growing up!'
Miley's performance comes after a video of her doing some 'dirty dancing' with 45-year-old film producer Adam Shankman surfaced on the internet last week.
Behind bars: Miley began the performance from inside a cage, surrounded by scantily-clad dancers
Angry: Miley snarled at the cameras throughout the performance
However, both Miley's country singer father Billy Ray and her boyfriend Liam Hemsworth have come forward to defend the teenager.
While Billy Ray dismissed it as Miley 'having fun' and 'doing what people her age do', Liam said: 'Everyone gets criticism, it's kind of what comes with this job - everybody's trying to bring you down.
'Miley has got a good head on her shoulders.'
Meanwhile, American football star Chad Ochocinco and his dance partner Cheryl Burke were eliminated from the show in the Dancing With The Stars semi-finals.
Elimination: Chad Ochocinco and Cheryl Burke (left) discover they are going home, while Erin Andrews and Maksim Chmerkovskiy make it to the final
Grateful: American football star Chad said he feels like he has 'already won'
After finding out he was leaving the show, Chad said: 'I enjoyed the journey, I met some wonderful people, I got some great criticism that's only made me stronger," he said as he was kicked off.
'And I'll miss them all, especially the beautiful Cheryl Burke. And in my eyes really, I've already won.'
Finalist: Pussycat Dolls star Nicole Scherzinger, ice skater Evan Lysacek and sports presenter Erin Andrews have made next week's final
Next week's final will see Pussycat Dolls star Nicole Scherzinger, ice skater Evan Lysacek and sports presenter Erin Andrews battle it out to be crowned the winner of the U.S. TV dance contest.
